After the madding crowds of summer have departed
After the migrant swifts have left these shores for warmer climes
When all in West Cork is returning to peace and serenity
A walk to the very end of Brow Head to stand and face the ocean
Knowing the air you breath is as pure as it can be
Knowing the next landfall is the USA and
there’s nothing between you and it but the open sea
You’re all alone on the edge of the world
There’s not a living soul to be seen for miles
Peace

Followed by a visit to O’Sullivan’s in Crookhaven
A pint of the black stuff in Ireland’s most Southerly bar
A basket of the freshest shrimps the ocean can provide
Consumed in front of the roaring fire
Perfection.’
