Pat O’Driscoll – Castletownbere, West Cork.

‘I’m inspired by my surroundings, the ocean, the mountains and nature. I have recently taken up painting, and I love to paint flowers and seascapes. The flowers are not a specific type, I paint them from my imagination, I like to bring them to life by adding colours that I like. Its the same with painting boats, I like to add different types of sails and add life to the painting as if the boats are moving. The more I paint the more I learn.

I also love sewing and needle work, making quilts, little dolls and aprons. But my main hobby is poker, its my real passion. I play every Sunday with some of the local lads, I like to take a bit of money of them now and again. The games usually go on into the early hours of Monday morning.

Family makes me happy and I love family gatherings, I have 20 grand children and 7 great grand children.’
