My Perfect Day –
‘Walking woodland pathways on leaves of rust and gold, to reach the seashore where reflections of mountains, trees and boats sat on the calm still water. Ripples ran across the surface as the twigs he threw landed as make-believe vessels. Perfect peace only disturbed by the purring engine of the little boat returning from nearby Garnish Island.
The sun swapped places with the moon and soon the sparkle of the stars appeared. Time to return home to a crackling fire, warming hot chocolate and the vase of dancing yellow roses. On the homeward journey beautiful Bantry Bay and Whiddy Island disappeared into the darkness of night.
‘Colm remarked ‘wasn’t that a lovely day’ while also adding ‘I know lots about Space and Dinosaurs’. A very wise six year old who like me his (favourite) auntie knows that, yes, all the free ingredients of West Cork do indeed make ‘A Perfect Day.’
A lovely description of a day out in West Cork.
