‘My Favourite Memory –

Pairc Uí Rinn, October 16th 2016 at 16.55 … The Andy Scannell Trophy held aloft by Carbery Rangers captain James Fitzpatrick for the first time in our clubs history. A historic day for our club, community and everyone connected to the Green, White & Gold of Carbery Rangers … a day I will never forget.’

My favourite memory from childhood –

Having grown up on a farm, there was never a dull moment. The highlight of the year was always the treshing. Eight to ten neighbours would come and help and we looked forward to a half day from school. Of course we would run most of the two and a half miles home that day. Our job was to help fill the bags with grain. When the hard work was finally complete, we all proceeded inside for food. A bottle of Guinness and spinning of yarns were just rewards for the men who had worked tirelessly. We would also enjoy playing in the chaff with our friends afterwards.’

What impresses me…is the enthusiasm of the young and the wisdom of the not so young. In a changing, and often confused world, the idealism and social consience of the vast majority of young people never fails to inspire. The calm dignity of older people, who have enjoyed good times and survived bad times, is equally inspiring.’

My favourite saying –

It is what it is!’

‘Life can throw many things at you, good and not so good, and you can either fight it or accept it! fighting or ignoring it gets you nowhere, you have to embrace the fact that this is your life’s journey!’

Favourite quote – ‘Don’t think about things too much’.

Great celebrations last night at the launch of the ‘Meet the Neighbours – People of Rosscarbery Exhibition’ at the Celtic Ross Hotel as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations. Helen Wycherley, Neil Grant and Sherna Malone hosted the evening.

The star of the night was Niall Flavin who is always smiling and is so full of warmth and happiness, he is deeply loved and cherished by all the community of Rosscarbery.

The exhibition is a celebration of the hotels connection with the local community and how their success is based on that bond. Everybody cares and looks out for each other and this was lovely to see last night as both the locals and the hotel celebrated together as one.

Super excited to announce the opening of my ‘People of the Wild Atlantic Way’ photography exhibition at Cork Airport.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You to the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery for sponsoring the exhibition and I would also like to thank the hotel for their invaluable help and support during my time in West Cork.

The exhibition consists of 20 portraits taken in West Cork and is located on the ground floor of the Airport for the month of March. The exhibition will relocate to the Celtic Ross Hotel on the route of the Wild Atlantic Way as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations. The hotel would like to extend an invitation to everyone to visit during the celebrations

A special thank you to all the wonderful people I photographed during my time in West Cork and for their help and support in making this project the success it is today.

Thanks also to Kathleen Walshe from the DAA for making Cork Airport available to house the exhibition for the month of March.
